There is a strong link between stress and illness. Patients are less resistant to disease after an emotional stressful event. Massage is the ideal way of reducing stress, whether physical or emotional. We are working in a high stress lifestyle, fast, on the go, on the move, bent over computers, hours behind steering wheels, short night sleeps, and many other modern grips. While the right advice would be to take an ocean cruise, the reality is for most, its not going to happen. I therefore believe in providing a relief for sore, tired and tense muscles, to keep clients on the go during their busy lifestyles. While most muscle tension in the back, neck and shoulders is sourced at the spine needing a chiropractic adjustment, the muscles relating to the spine being out of place is what causes the pain and discomfort that a person feels when “stressed out”. Sports Massage techniques, I believe, are nowadays proving not only effective for active sports men and woman, but also for the ordinary person who lives in a stressed environment. These techniques offer release to the muscle, supplying oxygen and blood, relief of headaches and numbness, and a clearer head to ‘keep on with the job’. Ultimately its important to say that rest, relaxation, healthy eating, time in nature to bond with ones heart and soul are of the best medicines, Holisitic and Sports Massage may offer a brief hour of relief whether you’re winding down into your quiet space, or ‘need to hold on’ for another day. For active sports people, sports massage offers great advantages in both pre and post event, as it allows for maximum flow of blood and oxygen. Lymph drainage massage post event allows for quick regenerative and healing time of injured or bruised muscles, allowing the shortest time possible to reach their optimum performance levels. Above all, we all deserve an hour a week (for the lucky), or at the very least an hour a month to focus on the well being of our bodies. Massage allows for great awareness of body and self, and often a quick reconnect with the mind and soul before heading out into the rush of day again. A bit of pampering will do the world of good, for anyone, at anytime.
